Preparing for Worship – June 14

from Mark Hoffman

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”  John 11:25-27 (ESV)

This week as we gather to worship our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, we begin in song, proclaiming the Great Things that he has done. Then, hearing the words of Christ in John 11, we respond, as Martha did, with a response of faith. We will sing Resurrection Power and Resurrecting, acknowledging our belief that Jesus truly is the resurrection and the life.

Following our Children’s Church dismissal (all kids 5 years old through 4th grade are invited to attend) we are pleased to have Pastor Justin MacKinnon continue our Know-Believe-Live series with a message from John 11. We’ll respond together in song, celebrating the life-giving resurrection power of Jesus Christ as we sing Glorious Day. Concluding our service we will worship through a time of Giving, have a few brief announcements, and a Benediction.

Take a few moments to find a quiet time and place to reflect prayerfully on the Scripture and songs for this week. Come prepared to gather together and engage in the worship of Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life.

See you on Sunday! Mark
