Preparing for Worship – May 3

from Mark Hoffman

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me

has eternal life. He does not come into judgment,

but has passed from death to life. John 5:24

As we gather for worship this week, we acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord of all things… heaven and earth, death and life. As we sing God of Wonders and Cornerstone and read words of praise from Psalm 146, we join in proclaiming together that He is Lord of all! Then, John 5:21;24-25 reminds us that by faith in Christ we have passed from death to life. We will spend some quiet moments in prayer and reflection, and respond with Christ Is Risen.

Following our Children’s Church dismissal (all kids 5 years old through 4th grade are invited to attend) Pastor Andrew will continue our series in the Gospel of John with a message from John 4:46-5:47. As we respond to God’s Word as a fellowship, we will remember Christ at the Communion table as well as in song with Jesus Paid It All. Concluding our worship will be a time of Giving, some brief announcements, and a Benediction.

This week, continue to acknowledge the authority of Christ in every area of your life. He is worthy of our worship. Take a few moments to prepare for gathered worship by reflecting on the Scriptures above and familiarizing yourself with the songs. He is Lord of all and is worthy of all of our praise and adoration. Let’s come prepared to worship as people who have passed from death to eternal life in Him! See you on Sunday, Mark
