Prayer is how we actively practice believing that God has the whole world in his hands. It’s where we “let petitions and praises shape our worries into prayers, letting God know our concerns” (Phil. 4:6–7). Prayer is never the last resort of God’s people, but our first point of action. We believe there is a God who bends his ear to listen, and so we pray. May all who seek you

    rejoice and be glad in you;

may those who love your salvation

    say continually, “Great is the Lord!”

Psalm 40:16

This week we will begin our time of worship with God’s own words of worship given to us in the Psalms. As those who seek the Lord and love his salvation, we will read responsively from Psalm 40 and sing together Great Are You Lord

Hearing again from Scripture, we are reminded in Matthew 21 that this week is Palm Sunday, when we commemorate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. As he entered, “the whole city was stirred up, saying, ‘Who is this?’” We gather as those who know the answer to that question, for we know Jesus Christ as God in the flesh. He is the One who died, was raised, and ascended in victory over sin and death! In response to the truth of who Christ is and what he has done, we sing Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery.

We’ll set aside a few minutes of our live-stream again this week specifically for our kids and then highlight some announcements as well. Pastor Andrew will then begin to look at God’s Message of Hope found in the four cups of Passover with a sermon titled “God’s Hope Promised.” His sermon texts this week are found in Exodus 6:5-8 and Matthew 21-23.

Though it will be different this week, we will still partake of Communion together, and celebrate our release from the burden of sin as we sing No Longer Slaves. We will close our time together as we worship through Giving, prayer, and a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to: prayer@meadowsfamily.org.

I’m praying that we would seek the Lord all the more during these days, and that we may find peace and purpose in Him. I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday…
