Preparing for Worship – Apr 17

from Mark Hoffman

And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands
he blessed them. While he blessed them,

he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem

with great joy, and were continually in the temple

blessing God.  Luke 24:50-53

This week, we desire to respond to the blessing of the risen Christ in the same way that the disciples did at his ascension — in joyful worship! So this scene in Luke encourages us to worship with joy as the Bee family leads us in singing Glorious Day and Because He Lives (Amen).

We’ll set aside a few minutes of our live-stream again to pray for our kids and then enjoy a brief greeting time, too. Then, our look at God’s Message of Hope continues this week as Drew Barnes helps us to understand the implications of Christ’s ascension with a sermon entitled “God’s Hope Propelled.” His texts are found in Exodus 6:6-7; John 14:1-4; Luke 24:50-53. We will respond together with Communion and in song with Who You Say I Am.

We will close our time together with Giving, prayer, and a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to:

Let’s pray that we all truly experience the power of our hope in Christ this week.
