Preparing for Worship – April 24

from Mark Hoffman

And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

and were continually in the temple blessing God.  Luke 24:53

In Drew Barnes’ message last week, we saw that the disciples’ three responses to Jesus become our responses to him as well. As we receive Christ’s message of hope to us, we respond by worshiping Him, being joyful, and blessing the Lord. This week we will respond this way in songs of worship with 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) and Who You Say I Am.

We’ll set aside a few minutes of our livestream again to pray for our kids and engage in a “shelter-in-place” version of our Fellowship Greeting. Then, Pastor Andrew wraps up our look at God’s Message of Hope with his sermon, “God’s Hope Empowered.” Our Bible texts this week are found in Exodus 6:6-7, John 14:15-17, and Acts 1:6-10. Responding together to God’s message of hope, we will take Communion and worship with a song of praise to our King of Kings.

We’ll close our time together with Giving, prayer, and a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to:

As you prepare for worship this week, continue to focus on the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. Pray that this hope would impact us, our families and friends, our church, and our community during these days.
