Preparing for Worship – May 1

from Mark Hoffman

He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.  1 Timothy 6:15-16

We’ll open our time of worship this week with these words from 1 Timothy, pointing us toward God, who alone is our King of kings and Lord of lords. As the one who deserves all honor and dominion, we come before him in worship singing All Creatures of Our God and King and Our God Saves.

Next, we’ll set aside a few minutes of our livestream again this week specifically for our kids and then highlight some announcements as well. Pastor Andrew will then begin our new God Is… sermon series with a message from Mark 12:28-34 entitled “God Is Simple.” We will respond together in song with This I Believe and the Doxology. We also will take Communion together as we remember the sacrifice of Christ and participate in the fellowship we have with the Lord and with one another.

We will close our time together with Giving, prayer, and a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to:

Please prepare for worship this Sunday by being familiar with the songs we’ll sing and Scripture we will read. Prepare your space for worship, prepare your elements for Communion, and above all, prepare your heart and mind to come before the blessed and only Sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen!
