Preparing for Worship – May 29

from Mark Hoffman

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.  James 1:17-18 (NLT)

This week we come before our unchanging God in worship, to praise him for his good and perfect gifts. These gifts from God certainly include those material blessings he has given to us, but even more importantly, we praise him for the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ! In response to these verses of Scripture from James, we’ll praise the Lord in song with His Mercy Is More and Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

Following a few brief announcements and a special time for our kids, Pastor Andrew will continue our God Is… sermon series with a message entitled “God Is Unchanging.” We’ll respond to this truth from God’s Word as we sing Unchanging. Concluding our time of worship is a time of prayer, Giving, and a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to:

You can prepare for worship this weekend by taking some time to prayerfully engage the Scripture and songs above. Then be ready to worship along with our live-stream on Sunday morning as we praise our unchanging God and receive from his true Word.

Also, be praying as we look forward to an outdoor “drive-in” worship service in our parking lot next Sunday, June 7th. Look for details during this week’s announcements!

Thanks for praying and preparing for worship this week. May God be glorified in all that we do…
