Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:16-17

What awesome verses to guide us into worship this week! Though we are far removed from the time and place in which these words were written, Paul’s exhortation here to the church in Colossae is a beautiful reminder of what we are to value in our worship as well. The word. Teaching. Singing. Thankfulness. One another. And all of it in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we prepare to gather in worship this week, let’s put these biblical values of worship before us and come together on Sunday with these things in mind as our goal. It can be easy for us to get caught up in the surface level stuff sometimes. But Scripture points us in the right direction and helps us keep our worship focused on the right things. This builds us up as a church and gives glory to God. Isn’t that what we want?

Each Sunday we engage in the worship Paul describes through songs, Scripture, and prayers. We’re reminded that the church is made up of all generations, so kids are always welcome! We have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under, and a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all of our young worshipers. Central to our worship is hearing from God through the preaching of the Bible. This week is Palm Sunday, and Stewart Pattison will begin our Holy Week series He Has Done It with the first in a series of messages from Psalm 22.

You can prepare for gathered worship by finding a few moments to simply engage with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.

See you this Sunday!
