Advent means the arrival. We celebrate the arrival of Jesus in the days leading up to Christmas. But, what does this look like? I do not know about you, but I have trouble finding something that I can stick to for 24 days. This is especially true when I have unrealistic expectations. There is not a one-size-fits-all solution to this- but I wanted to find a plan that I think would fit my family and would possibly fit yours too. Many have heard of “The Jesus Storybook Bible” and there is an advent plan that goes along with that Bible.  There are 24 stories that lead to the story of Jesus' birth. Together, your family can read along connecting Old Testament stories to the New Testament.

As your family prepares for the birth of Jesus, I pray that you can spend time reflecting on the one big story of redemption that is the Bible. There is also a  Spotify playlist  that can be used during your time of worship.   I also pray that you are able to take time to slow down and thank God for all He did to bring us back into right relationship with Him. Romans 6:23 reminds us that “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. No matter how you spend your Advent, let’s spend the first days in December praising God for giving us His Son Jesus!
